Velvedere enthuses with his first vintage

Good sales quota at the Westphalian foal auction

Price list 64. Westphalian Online-Auction

Münster: 20 young talents predispositioned for dressage were for sale at today's online auction in Westphalia. The amazons were particularly popular among the customers. A daughter from the first vintage of Velvedere advanced to the top of the price list. The new owners invested 25,500 Euros in Viva Valentina. The average price of the 17 foals sold was 9,441 Euros.

It was the fillies that particularly appealed to the customers of the Westphalian Studbook this evening. With his premiere vintage, the Westphalian stallion from the Holkenbrink station Velvedere had a great kick-off at the Westphalian auction floor. His daughter Viva Valentina out of a dam by Fahrenheit (breeder: Simon Holkenbrink, Albachten; exhibitor: Anna-Maria Settertobulte, Münster) advanced to the top price of the evening. In a long BidUp, 17 bidding parties fought for the favor of the dark bay. At the hammer price of 25,500 euros, the virtual auction hammer fell. Customers from Germany are looking forward to the future with the talented young Westphalian. As in previous years, Dynamic Dream's offspring are very popular with the clientele of the Westphalian Studbook. With the head number 2, the stallion presented another strong moving daughter. Her dam is the St.Pr.St. Escada from the first vintage of the popular Escamillo. She is out of the mare line of the premium stallion By your Side. Her first daughter Dorina (breeder: Stall Ridder, Selm; exhibitor: Werner Ridder, Selm) was worth 17,500 Euros to her new owners this evening.

The most expensive stallion prospect was head number 1 Zauber II. The son of Zauberlehrling PS/De Niro (breeder and exhibitor: Klaus Große-Lembeck, Telgte) is a full brother to Zauber. As a foal at the Westfalen-Woche 2021, the young colt also impressed the visitors and customers with the head number 1. The dam Verb.Pr.St. Deessé also produced Zaunkönig by Zack, the top-priced horse at the Westphalian Elite Auction in spring 2021, who sold for 205,000 euros. Zauber II changed hands to Belgian ownership this evening for 14,000 euros.

Of the 20 foals predispositioned for dressage offered for sale, 85 percent changed hands this evening. On average, customers invested 9,441 Euros in their future hope for the dressage ring. Six of the foals sold cracked the 10,000 euro mark in the hammer price. "We are very pleased with the way this online auction went! We are pleased that we were able to help many breeders with the marketing of their foals and that we were able to maintain the average price of the last few years", summarizes auction manager Thomas Münch.

The Westphalian foal auctions will continue in just one week. In another online auction, both foals predispositioned for dressage and jumping will be up for sale. The lot can already be viewed online at onlineauction.westfalenpferde.de.
